How it works

  1. Create your contact link. WhatsApp, phone, SMS, email or Telegram. The form above starts with WhatsApp selected.
  2. The QR code comes with the link. No extra step: when the link is created, the result shows the QR code.
  3. Download and test before printing. Download PNG or SVG and scan it with two different phones, ideally an iPhone and an Android.

Where a contact QR code works best

Tables, counters and menus

Cafés and restaurants that take orders on WhatsApp put the QR code on tables or the counter. The pre-filled message can say where it came from: "Hi, I'm at table 4 and I'd like to order".

Business cards

Instead of three lines of contact details, a small QR code on the back. Whoever gets the card scans it and the chat is open, no typing.

Shop windows, doors and service vans

After hours, a QR code in the window with "Message us on WhatsApp" keeps bringing in contacts. On a service van it gets seen in traffic and car parks.

Packaging and labels

Frequently asked questions

Is the QR code free, and does it expire?

It is free and does not expire. The QR code points to your CriarMeuLink link, which has no expiry date. It keeps working as long as the link exists.

Do people need an app to scan it?

No. The camera on iPhones and most Android phones reads QR codes directly. Point it at the code and tap the notice on screen.

What is the minimum print size?

At least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) per side for scanning from a hand's length away, as on a business card. For posters read from one or two metres away, use 10 cm (4 in) or more. A rule of thumb is one tenth of the scanning distance.

Can I change my number after printing the QR code?

With an account, yes. The QR code leads to your short link, and the link's destination can be edited in the dashboard. The printed code stays the same and opens the new number.

PNG or SVG?

PNG for phones, social posts and documents. SVG for print shops and large formats, because it is a vector and stays sharp at any size.

Can I use my brand colour and logo?

With an account, yes. Pick a colour dark enough to contrast with a light background and a small logo in the centre. The generator warns you when the contrast gets too low.

Can I see how many people scanned it?

Yes, with an account. The QR code uses your link with a source tag, and the report separates visits from the QR code from regular clicks.

Printing tips

  • Dark on light. Black or a dark colour on white or a very light background. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many scanners.
  • Keep the white margin. Leave a clear border around the code of at least four of the QR code's own squares. Without it, cameras can't find the code.
  • Say what happens. "Scan to message us on WhatsApp" under the code increases scans, because people know what will open.
  • Never print without testing. Test the final file at print size with two phones. A mistake found after a thousand flyers is expensive.
  • Prefer an editable link. With an account, the QR code points to a link you can update. New number, new email or new staff member: your printed material keeps working.
